Revamped Broadcast and Video Platform to Bring Trans Am Series Action to North American and International Audiences

MIAMI, Fla.  [February 13, 2018] – The Trans Am Race Company LLC has announced a complete overhaul of the broadcast and video services of the Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli with the completion of a three-year partnership with Greenlight TV.

The new partnership was formed in the interest of increasing both the reach and frequency of Trans Am video and broadcast—both domestically on CBS Sports Network and internationally.   Fans of the series can expect more highlights, recaps and Trans Am footage throughout the entirety of the season, not just on broadcast dates and events.

The new production plan will also see live streaming on www.MotorTrendOnDemand.com introduced at four Trans Am events this season: the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Road America and Daytona International Speedway.

“We’re thrilled to bring this new platform to the partners, competitors and fans of the Trans Am Series,” said John Clagett, President of The Trans Am Race Company.  “We’ve grown leaps and bounds over the past several years and are excited to showcase our racing across an expanded base with Greenlight— together we expect to make Trans Am more accessible than at any point in recent years.”

Greenlight TV will produce the six Trans Am events slated for broadcast, as well as race recaps of roughly ten minutes each for all twelve 2018 TransAm events.  In addition to the domestic broadcast on CBS Sports Network, Greenlight International will distribute event recaps and broadcasts internationally, bringing Trans Am event highlights to over 750 million homes worldwide.

“We are delighted and proud to be working with Trans Am and a part of the team that helps Trans Am take the next steps forward in its long and respected history as a leader in North American motorsports,” said Lauren Roberts, President of Greenlight TV USA.  “Motorsports is at the core of Greenlight’s DNA, and we are excited to bring Greenlight’s unique story telling experience and capabilities to TransAm.  We look forward with great anticipation to working with John, his team and the whole TransAm paddock starting at Sebring in a few weeks.“

In addition, the partnership will see the creation of a new Trans Am Broadcast Portal featuring clips and highlights throughout event weekends, accessible to local, national and international media as well as team and series partners.   Teams and drivers will also be able to upload their own video content to the portal.

While weekend highlights will commence at the season opener at Sebring International Raceway on March 4th, CBS Sports Network broadcasts will begin at the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix featuring a 90-minute show, including a recap of the season so far.   The Detroit weekend will also be the site of the first live stream of 2018.
